I’ve always had a wanderlust for exploring. An unavoidable urge to be in constant motion is keeps me motivated to pursue the next horizon.

I am a 27 1/2-year-old self-taught photographer living in Nebraska at the moment. I use a variety of cameras, lenses and digital manipulation to best capture a place, time, and feeling in image form. To me a photograph is not so much dependent on the devices used to create it but the eyes used to foresee it. These collections of photographs represent my efforts thus far.

A bit of history:

While living in New Zealand in 2006 my camera was stolen from the back seat of my car- it turned out to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I realized that I never before had seen the importance of capturing the everyday moments of life until the one day I was unable to. To capture a simple sunset over the South Island mountains or a group of close-nit traveling friends – it really just hit me, I may never be in this spot with these people again and I may never again get the chance to capture it and preserve the memory to take with me. As soon returned home and upon receiving my first paycheck, I was holding a brand new camera.  Almost everyday since then I have had a camera in my hands. I find that everyday there is something, someone, or somewhere amazing to capture with a simple camera and a lens.

Travel for me is a journey of learning – not only discovering new things about other people and places, but about myself.  I love to use photography as a way of exploring the world as I experience it and sharing the beauty, wonder, and tragedy of what I capture with everyone. So I hope you enjoy my story and images. And perhaps  be inspired to take some of your own!

A few facts about me:

Born late June in Geneva, Nebraska (pop. 2,052)

I since high school have lived in California, Missouri,
Colorado, New Zealand, Australia and London, England. (pop. 7.6 million)

I shoot video and stills for travel, event, and editorial.

I have been educated with a B.A. in Multimedia
(and since with the unaccredited DIY University)

I think every person is a door to another place – and I love to tell their story.

My  goal for 2010 is to shoot a short documentary about a selfless friend living in the Himalayan mountains in Nepal.
